Daniel Taub – article recap

The MP of Bradford West, George Galloway, has been known for his controversial viewpoints regarding Israel throughout his career, and recently, after doubling down on his radical sentiments, the Ambassador of Israel to the Court of St. James, Daniel Taub, visited the region in response to the outcry. As George Galloway stated that he wanted Bradford to be an Israel-free zone, Mr. Taub recently spoke with Telegraph and Argus. He was invited to the region by several people within the community of Bradford and planned to attend several meetings in which he would speak with councilors and religious leaders from the area. While George Galloway further elaborated on his stance, believing that the region should be without goods and services, as well as academics and tourists associated with Israel, upon his visitation, Daniel Taub believes that the overall attitudes of Bradford were in immediate contrast with the beliefs held by Mr. Galloway.

While Daniel Taub’s visit to Bradford was very brief, form the time he spent there, he was able to ascertain that, while George Galloway’s perspectives on the situation in Bradford is one of exclusion, the opinions of the people reflect an ideology of inclusion. Mr. Taub further added that having an environment in which people of different backgrounds and religious beliefs should be able to coexist, is of prime importance for the growth of the region, as well as Israel as a whole. The recent opinions expressed by George Galloway have not only caused a public outcry on social media and other venues, it has also led to an investigation by the British police. The statement garnered international attention, as well as the attention of Daniel Taub, due to the searing accusations being made by Mr. Galloway. In addition to declaring Bradford an Israel-free zone, he also spoke on the actual state of the Israeli government, deeming it illegal, savage, and barbarous. Daniel Taub seems to believe that the anger felt by George Galloway and his constituents, is one of misplaced aggression. While George Galloway has placed emphasis on the turmoil between the Shia and the Sunni, Mr. Taub tends to believe that the battle is more between the issues associated with the past and the future. This isn’t the first time that controversial statements made by George Galloway have been publicly addressed, as he has a long history of bigoted viewpoints, once refusing to debate an opponent due to the fact that he was from Israel.
