On 07 June 2016, GTL issued a press release against Securus Technologies. In response, Securus Technologies answered with a press release on 09 June 2016. I know Securus Technologies as a leading provider of criminal and civil justice technology solutions for monitoring, corrections, investigation, and public safety. Securus Technology is a Dallas-based company which is serving over twelve-hundred-thousand inmates, correction agencies, law enforcement, and over three-thousand public safeties. I know its commitment to provide monitoring products, inmate self-service, information management, communication, biometric analysis, investigation, public information, incident management, and emergency response. According to Securus, the press release of GTL contains several statements that are inaccurate and misleading. The reason for Securus’s press release is to provide clarification and correct the incorrect claims of GTL. I read six allegations by GTL, and Securus has given a thorough answer to all of them.
Chief Executive Officer of Securus Technologies Richard A, Smith said that GTL is fully aware of the reality that patent litigation usually takes a time of several years, and it involves millions of dollars. Therefore, what is the reason behind the approach of scorched earth litigation that GTL is pursuing? It does not make any sense that how would it favor the interest of their organization as it is not a good financial practice. He further said that Securus would continue to defend itself from GTL’s attacks, and assert its patents. The company will continue to do this as long as GTL continues with its approach.
While responding to the latest press release of GTL, Richard A. Smith said that he would be happy to take up the challenge with GTL anytime they want. While they are issuing press releases from time to time that require corrections too, they do not say anything about the technology challenge offered to them.
